The Wooded Way is Home Tree seed ...

The movie AVATAR is a wonder to behold, yet there is nothing about it that is not based on that which actually exists here on Earth right now. In fact, that is the entire message of this movie! The story line itself is incidental to that which it represents. It represents US ... or the two sides of us. That which has been conditioned into believing one thing is real, and that which actually IS real; the corporate, global economy based world of money, power, greed and Earth-destroying machines ... and the world of the indigenous peoples of the Earth, connected to her, living with her, as a vital part of her being. This is a reality ... we are ALL indigenous to the Earth ... to her, the Mother of us all ... Eywa IS Gaia, and Gaia lives!

In the movie, the paraplegic ex-marine Jake Sully needs healing ... by the end of the movie he IS healed and is given a new body through Eywa, the life of Pandora. It was a choice he made freely after learning the truth about Eywa and it’s people, it’s living essence. We, too have an opportunity to make the same choice he made, here, today, right now! We can make the free choice to begin the process of learning to be our primal or indigenous selves once more ... the choice to return to the ever-loving arms of the Mother, GAIA, our living Earth and Mother of us all. This IS the Way of The Wood!

Apparently there is a new ‘condition’ people have been talking about on Avatar forums, social media platforms and suchlike. It is what might be called ‘Avatar depression’, and stems from the fact that the remarkable 3D world of the movie seems so beautiful that when you come out again, our world seems drab, lifeless and devoid of substance. Such statements are made by people who have not truly ‘seen’ Gaia ... people who have not become ‘of the wood’. Our world ... the conditioned Western world we have created actually IS drab, lifeless and devoid of substance, however in truth, the real life world of Gaia is no less beautiful and remarkable as Pandora, as previously stated, every thing in the movie is actually based on real living things that either do exist, or have existed, here on Earth. Similarly, our living Earth, Gaia, is no less symbiotically connected than that of Pandora. Just like Eywa, Gaia actually IS an ordered living ‘oneness’ where everything has a role and a purpose within that oneness. Just like the N’avi, humans also have the power to ‘connect’ with animals of other species; to join with them and share our energy with them in such a way as to ‘domesticate’ them into freely working with us. Our two most faithful animals, cats and dogs, are actually predators ... yet we share a bond so close with them that they become ‘family’. Many people throughout the world have much the same relationship with horses, cows, oxen, camels, huge elephants that could so easily crush us. On Pandora, the N’avi physically joined with other animals using their ‘ponytails’. Here, we connect with other animals using another remarkable power that is not well understood ... it is called LOVE, and needs no physical connection to be made ... although touching and stroking DOES reinforce the love.

In reality, it is quite remarkable that we humans have survived and thrived on Earth at all. We have no sharp claws or big, pointy teeth, no shell or other armour to protect us, we don’t run anywhere near as fast as the predators and even come already bald and packaged ready to eat! We are, in nature, very easy prey. But we DO have our own specialisations that define us from other species. Yes, we CAN think, create and make weapons to both hunt and protect ourselves with, but in the real world of Gaia, these tools are rarely needed for protection at all. Were we living as our true, primal selves, indigenous to Gaia, the living Earth, our most powerful protection is our ability to join, through love, with all living things. This one remarkable ability does two very important things ... it removes the need for other animals to fear us, and takes us of the menu as a food resource, and if we are neither food nor threat, why would anything feel a need to kill us? This is, in truth, the only reason that we are still here on Earth today! For over a million years, the human animal has been inherently joined with all other life on Earth ... it is only in the last 10,000 years that we chose to become ‘civilised’ and lose our connection with the rest of life in the hope of manifesting something ‘better’. We chose to leave Eden and lost our way in the vast unknown of our own mind. Why? because we felt a need to protect ourselves from a new, very real and dangerous predator ... us! ... and ever since we gave away our power here on Earth ... we have been striving to get it back somehow, by building ever more powerful machines, weapons and armies. Yet our real power lies not in what we make, but in what we are ... it lies not in what we do, but how we feel!

This then, as previously stated, is the real connection people have made through the movie Avatar. The story-line is incidental to the dualistic comparisons made between the ‘conditioned’ selves of the man-made world; and the ‘primal’ selves of the world of Gaia ... that which we were originally created to be in the living Gaian oneness, and that which we have now become.

Is this a reversible state that we have manifested? Can we ever return to our beautiful, wondrous, loving, primal selves again? YES, but we each need to consciously make that choice. We can all still feel and are all still indigenous to Gaia, should we choose to be. We need to make that choice individually, then come back together as community in order to de-condition our minds and re-learn how to love ... how to hear without thought, see without judgement, feel without pain. We need to return to the open, ever-loving arms of Gaia, the living Earth and Mother of us all.

Where and how to begin?

The Wooded Way is like the seed of HOME TREE. A place to come back together in order to learn how to be-come our primal selves once more. Right now, we have around 3 acres of secluded land available on which to create a learning space ... a DREAMSPACE! It will take work. Like our own minds, it has become overgrown with weeds and needs to be revealed again in its true state. So this should be our first task, to go and cleanse and prepare our DREAMSPACE together ... and in doing so, learn to bond as family working on a singular vision. We can then develop a place to BE on our land ... a place of learning and feeling, a place to share. A place from which we can then start looking for our HOME TREE. The Gaia Dreamspace is not big enough to become a living community, it is purely a gathering, learning and feeling place, a spiritual space. It is not HOME, we cannot LIVE there. It is the seed we must all carry within us until we find our place to plant it.

Question?  Do we buy our land ... or do we claim it?  This is a difficult one. We can either pool our resources and do fund-raising to buy a large area of land to build our home ... or we have the option of looking for a significant area of so-called ‘crown’ land and simply claiming it back. The former will probably provide us with good, arable and fertile land, the latter will probably be very wild and unspoilt forest in some very isolated location. The former will require a willingness to be ‘of this world’ a while longer to work and raise the capital needed to create our home place ... the latter will put us directly at odds with the man-made world, however, if there is enough of us working together peacefully and transparently from a place of LOVE, not conflict, it will also be a huge teaching and learning process ... a real dilemma for them.

Imagine say, 1000 people, parents, Elders, children ... a whole community that is peaceful,  unarmed, non-confronting and VERY IMPORTANTLY, totally  transparent to the point of even having media representation right at the start, so that everyone on Earth is totally aware of what we are all about and what we are doing ... returning to our indigenous, primal selves. We have claimed a significant area of land that nobody else is using ... perhaps even earmarked for logging at some later date! Do you, as a government, send in masses of police, perhaps even the military against unarmed families, to arrest them knowing that the whole world is watching in judgement? ... a difficult choice in a land that prides itself so much on ‘human rights’ ... what greater right do we have than the right to live in harmony with the living Earth that bore us? So do we choose to make such a bold statement right at the start ... a statement powerful enough to affect the whole world ... yet could also possibly result in a degree of suffering or martyrdom? Or do we play it safe and pool together to buy land and build our Home from within the ‘system’? What would YOU choose?

hmmmm.... tis a very interesting proposition beau-tiful, at this point in time , which is now back there, i would suggest the path of least resistance...the flow...whatever that may be and whatever time it may present itself is indeed the mystery....

Hows that for sitting on the fence...Haha!

Touching and stroking other animals and each other = heart chakra smothering other bodies and chakra points...

I totally believe the second option is the most powerful, as it is the truth of what we really want - well it is the truth of what I really want...

Not to be completely disconnected from the outside world and it's resources; but to be claiming my birth right - to have full support for my journey here, from the Earth...

One option may be approaching some indigenous Elders from the perfect location, and receiving thier blessing in using the land. (note - all land which is bought or gifted from 'crown owned' or other non indigenous peoples, is actually STOLEN land to begin with; therefore, buying land off someone who has stolen it, is just perpetuating a value of stealing.)

I do not agree with this morale which has consumed every country on the planet - to steal from the people who are the most connected, you are stealing thier chance to pass on the knowledge of their connection to further generations.

There is a family who have received this blessing from the indigenous peoples from Nimbin area (Georgica) and 'own' land there by this blessing. Technically the only legal land ownership in this country so far, as a personal treaty was made by the non-indigenous peoples with the indigenous peoples, and so a peice of land was shared.

We could easily mimick this operation. Does anyone know these people or how to contact them?

Also true what Oliver says - the flow is always there, we've just got to jump in - whatever that may be...

peace.

it does not mean to be in a place

where there is no noise, trouble

or hard work. it means to be in

the midst of all of those things

and still be calm in your heart.

Agree totally with both of you, right now, the question is purely a hypothetical one as we are a long way from making such a decision. However, the question itself, and the replies given are a wonderful indication of commitment and intent. I really, really love the idea of talking to the Elders of a particular region and making treaty with them ... after all, in the long run it could be said that what we are doing in The Wooded Way is re-learning how to be indigenous again ... how to be of this Earth, Gaia, The Wood and the land we have chosen to be in now. I feel that such a treaty should also indicate a willingness to learn, understand and respect the customs, rites and traditions ... the LORE (not law) of the indigenous people of this land, and likewise, should include a willingness to share our knowledge and wisdom also for the all good!

Oli ... the question is "what do we define as the resistance to be avoided?" I would suggest that going with the flow of mainstream consciousness and buying land, putting together DA's, conforming to SEPP 15 rules, etc, etc would actually result in much greater resistance on number of levels later, simply because what we are proposing to do is quite contrary to the form of living and social thinking of the government. Even the type of dwellings we might want to build would have to conform to the Building Code of Australia (which promotes only European style houses - even the traditional Aboriginal lean-to is now an illegal dwelling in nearly all regions of Australia). To me, 'the flow' is what is created by the heart, and if the only place we come from is the heart, both personally and as community, there is no resistance.

Indeed, the highest path does present itself at the perfect time.

I suppose for me at the moment i am going through a lot of inner reflection and searching for who / what i am, and am this unable to make or contemplate any of these seemingly larger decisions in life until i have a solid basis in myself underpinning and supporting any decisions.

What is interesting is more and more i feel a part of society, even with its obvious social flaws and un-connected way of living, but it still has its virtues and the majority of people are connected to such.

In the sense that the wooded way has the philosophy of creating another way of living, somewhat seperate to society and mainstream culture, i feel like my personal journey requires of me to be a part of the larger group and participate and assist in its re-shaping and activation of higher truths over the coming years.

For all people far and wide will be experiencing an inner awakening, to their truth, and that of the earth, and indeed it is written that a return to an inter and outerconnected way of being becomes such for all.

And until such a time when sweeping changes are taking place, i feel compelled to co-exist with mainstream society, finding enjoyment and happiness within these constructs, however the inner knowing still exists that massive changes to this way of living is expected and at such a time, the flow doth beckon...

"In the sense that the wooded way has the philosophy of creating another way of living, somewhat seperate to society and mainstream culture ..."

It is true to say that The Wooded Way is about creating another way of living, but its core philosophy is that of inspiring change and awakening others to the realisation that they still have choices and are not 'stuck' in a society they don't feel they want to be part of. In the 1960's - 70's people chose to 'drop out' of society to become hippies - in the age we are in now, people are making choices to return to the community ideal, not to 'drop out' of anything, but as an intentional lifestyle choice within mainstream society. This is one of the most important aspects of The Wooded Way, to offer alternative choices and inspire change from within mainstream culture. It is actually quite ludicrous for people to say "we are having a peaceful revolution to change the world", then 'drop out' of mainstream society and effectively become invisible for anyone to learn anything from at all. I adore the children of the Rainbow, tribe/family, but they have also chosen to remain invisible to the mainstream. The Wooded Way really needs to be transparent for others to see, learn from and feel inspired by. Humanity needs to change on a global level in order to heal the whole Earth, Gaia ... we need to do what we can to inspire change ... to remain IN the World without being OF the World.
